Unique Elements:

  • Entire production moved from 1,000 seat proscenium style theatre to 240 seat black box 3/4 thrust stage at the start of rehearsal period due to massive flood of proscenium theatre. Full show was redesigned to fit our new performance space and performance dates added to accommodate seating our subscribing audience.

  • Facilitated putting in two unplanned swings after a cast member broke their foot during performances. Added in rehearsals and coordinated meals.

  • Coordinated over hire workers for scenic and costume builds.

Unique Elements:

  • Event style production focusing on rediscovering the opera music created by composers of color - Samuel Coleridge Taylor and Shirley Graham Du Bois.

  • The show was professionally recorded by Spyroll Studios and released in parts 2 & 3 on YouTube. The Show will air PBS in summer 2023.

Dance Concert 2022: Find Me in the Shadows by Stella Kane & Emily Baggarly

Unique Elements:

  • This is the first dance concert produced by Otterbein University that was originally conceived by a student and to be choreographed by our Choreography II Class.

  • We hired an outside stage manager and alum, Sarah Short to stage manage this production and lead two first year freshmen on their first Assistant Stage Management roles.

  • This production required extensive work with shadows. The entire cast of characters had a “shadow'“ version who would dance upstage of the cyc to represent their inner psyche.
